How does the funding work?

To support the mission of the RAF Youth STEM Team, funding is allocated to different areas and eligible schools can apply to participate. Even if you are not currently eligible, it is worth applying as you will be considered for future events.

If you are successful, the workshop will be delivered at no cost to the school.

How many children can take part?

Typical expectation is for around 60 children to participate in the day, however there is some flexibility for smaller/rural schools and it is possible to work across year groups for schools with single form entry or mixed year group classes. Get in touch to discuss your circumstances.

Will I definitely get a workshop if I apply?

All applications will be considered and priority schools will be agreed with the RAF Youth STEM team. You will be notified of the result of your application and always have the option to pay for a booking to guarantee a workshop.

What resources are required?

All challenge resources are provided, but we do expect children to have access to their usual stationery items. A challenge presentation will be used, so ability to connect laptop to projector/screen is essential.

The school is responsible for normally staffing ratios and are expected to be on hand at all times.
